#MyGATEStory #6 – Anmol Sharma (AIR 66 in GATE 2018 EE)
I am Anmol Sharma. I completed my graduation from HBTI Kanpur in the year 2016. In the same year, I attempted GATE for the first time after 1 year self-preparation along with the workload of B.Tech. I was pretty sure of under 100 AIR but eventually secured AIR 420. With this rank, I found hard to get into any PSU and therefore I joined IIT Kanpur for the Masters. I consider that decision to be very fruitful in my life because, until the final year, I just knew things but not very much confident about those concepts. After studying here at IIT Kanpur, my perception of things changed and the icing on the cake was your Krash course which I found “bang on”. I was little far from top 100 bracket which was bridged by the Krash course and finally, I secured AIR 66 in GATE 2018. Those four books are super helpful for anyone desiring a good rank.
To the fellow GATE aspirants, I would like to say there are so many situations you will face during this preparation or better I say your “growing phase” like seeing your friends settling before you, the distraction from social media etc. etc. But, mates I would like to suggest that always take inspiration from other’s success. Fill yourself with super positive energies upon seeing the success of others and say to yourself, if they can, I can. Surround yourself with good people and mentors and most importantly follow the right strategy. Take necessary advice from seniors and mentors and do not waste time on the things not needed for the gate. You should not forget that learning concepts are more important than mugging up formulae.
